Join us in 2017 at La Vuelta - Andalucia with its white washed villages nestled in craggy mountains, Mediterranean Sea and great food and wine is sure to impress!
Andalucia has a huge road cycling tradition. Every February it is home to the 6 stage pro race ´La Vuelta a Andalucia´ which since 1925 has thrilled crowds with 63 editions.
Perhaps the biggest secret though is the Sierra Nevada mountain range towering above Granada and the mighty Alhambra fortress. Here one can ride their road bike to Pico Veleta (3300m elevation) making it the highest paved road in Europe. At these dizzying heights ´Veleta´ is 500m higher than the mythical Bonette and Stelvio climbs and leaves them a distant 2nd and 3rd in the European road cycling elevation stakes!
Andalucia is also home to Flamenco dancing, is the world´s biggest producer of extra virgen olive oil, famous Europe wide for its beach holidays, gastronomy and mix of Greek, Roman, Arabic and Jewish heritage. With all of these benefits it is no surprise that Sierra Sports & Tours has made Andalusia its European home!
