There are 4 steps to become a member of the Sella Ronda club: Passo Gardena, Passo Sella, Passo Campolongo and Passo Pordoi. The views of the jagged limestone peaks and winding roads will be etched into your memory for a lifetime! The cycling tour will link up with the 2019 Giro race again tomorrow so there is a 1hr transfer to Predazzo your home for the next two nights.

DAY SIX – Friday 31 May 2019
Giro Stage 19 - San Martino

Predazzo is an excellent base for accessing both Stages 19 and 20 of the 2019 Giro d’Italia. Cycling from the hotel you warm-up in the valley towards Moena before veering off to tackle Passo San Pellegrino (11.5km at 7% average grade). The next challenge is the shorter Passo Valles (7km at 9% average) and the two climbs combined scale approximately 1500m elevation gain. Once at the summit today’s ride finishes with a spectacular 10km descent to the Giro Stage 19 finish line in San Martino di Castrozza. Don’t underestimate the shorter kilometre count on offer today as the two climbs, while relatively short, pack a punch and we need to be ready for tomorrow which includes a longer 100km option available. Following all the post-stage celebrations there will be a 45 minute transfer back to the hotel in Predazzo.

Meals: Breakfast & Dinner included

Destinations: San Martino di Castrozza

Ride: 65km cycling

Giro Stage 20 - Passo Manghen

The Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park is home to Passo Manghen which will be rolled out for a 2019 Giro d’Italia Stage 20 mid-stage mountain pass. ‘Manghen’has been used during 5 previous Giro editions with Marco Pantani taking victory back in 1999 (2019 will be the 20 Year Anniversary!). The 22km climb takes one up to 2050m altitude. The first 15km range between 4-6% but the final 7km constantly nudge 9-10% making it a truly rewarding cycling challenge. Following the Giro stage finish there will be a 1.5hr transfer to Verona so we are in prime position for the Stage 21 individual time trial!

2019 GIRO CYCLING TOUR

Cycle northern Italy where the Maglia Rosa always earns its keep!

In particular, Stages 19 and 20 take the peloton into the big mountains and Passo Manghen & Passo Rolle will be sure to shake-up the General Classification standings.
